On the road again... blessed to have new friends!

Okay, here it is...catch up #2! We finally are settled here on the Agriturismo, and have been able to do some traveling as well. In our first month here we made our way up Mt. Etna to take in the views....alright, let me pinch myself....okay, yes, it was real! We were standing on an active volcano. What a view!
This picture does not do Mt. Etna justice: the size of it is impressive in itself!
On the way back down the volcano, we noticed some houses buried under rubble from some sort of volcano activity. It made me wonder if we were crazy for living an hour away from the volcano. But, on a brighter note, the kiddos enjoyed the trip up the volcano. Oh, the questions they asked! Their main worry, will the "guava" aka lava come down and get us? Great concern, in my opinion. We always have such a great time just packing up the car with snacks and drinks and going on a road trip!

Time is flying here in Sicily! We celebrated  Punka's 5th birthday with all of our new buddies! She had a blast.  I could tell she new that we were lucky to have such nice new friends. Right after her party, Thanksgiving came. We were able to spend the evening in Ragalna, with some of the folks and families we have met. Both the hubby and I had a great time, it is always nice to spend some good quality adult time. Plus, I have some great new girlfriends! They are all mommies, so we have that in common. We get to share stories, run to the grocery store, go shopping, or just sit and chat while the kiddos play outside. My fears of having no friends here in Sicily have disappeared. My family and I are truly blessed!

A New Year...more blogging!

I'm back! It's been too long, a solid 3 months, and no blogs! Well, here's to a new year, with more blogging.  I realized I need to get back into the groove, especially after several people asked if I still was blogging. I didn't realize people enjoyed it so much! So thank you for motivating me to start back up again.
It has been a crazy 3 months! We've finally settled in to our new home. We were able to enjoy Halloween, Punk-a -butt's 5th birthday, Thanksgiving, and last, but not least Christmas! All were very enjoyable. I think we've settled in nicely, especially the kiddos. They have a great group of friends who live here on the property. Plus, they get to spend time with them at least 3 times a week. Also, we occasionally do family outings, so they get to spend even more time with kids their ages. Our kids are happy, so the hubby and I are happy. Actually, I am ecstatic that they have a place to roam free (somewhat) and have other children to interact with.
I also must admit that having a group of adults to chat with is exciting in itself...for me! In fact, sometimes I like talking to other mommies waaayyy to much. But hey, its an outlet. A stay @ home mommy needs an outlet sometimes.  So I realize this is a quick note, but not to worry, I have lots to catch up on. There is always something new we've seen or experienced.
